Abbey / Environment / Water Source Protection
NDANDA IS SITUATED at the foot of Makonde Plateau on the southern side of Lukuledi River Valley. It is an area blessed with several water sources discharging thousands of litres of fresh and drinkable water per day. The water source is surrounded by a thick and damp rain forest which we protect by hook or by crook. Human activities around this area are strictly forbidden and we are sometimes forced to use the police in dealing with anyone who threatens the integrity of the water source. We are confident that in so doing this water spring will continue to be a water lifeline for thousands [maybe hundreds??] of years to come.
