HIDDEN AND FREQUENTLY UNNOTICED by most of our visitors is the marble workshop. This workshop is setup separately from other workshops. This explains why it is not noticed so much by visitors. Its products, however, are not so easy to ignore as they are found all over the country. Out of the best marble found in the southern corridor of Tanzania, the workshop produces a great variety of products like: altars, bishops’ or main celebrants’ seats, baptismal fonts, altar seats, statues, plaques, tombstones and many others. One of the best products of this workshop is the bishop’s “cathedra” in St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
