Abbey / Environment / Hydro Dam Facility
PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITY through hydropower has become controversial these days especially because of the harm massive dams may pause to the environment. Yet, it is still one of the cleanest means of producing electricity if one were to compare it with huge diesel generators, atomic power reactors or coal-fired power plants. With our hydropower plant, excess drinking water is collected in a small dam and then transported downhill to the power house. The water is then rechannelled back to the river and can be used for irrigation. In doing so, possible negative consequences to the environment are avoided.
